Hi! My name is Brielle Mitchell, and I am a self-taught film and digital photographer based in Upstate New York.

I have always loved photography, but my interest in taking it seriously and learning it in detail started in my senior year of college. With an English major and Film minor, I became enamored with the power of a written creative concept and final visual product. I have always loved writing and film, and as I combined both, I began to create projects that involved the use of my photography. In my final semester, I developed a project using black and white film photography to visually express elements of our course novel. From there, I’ve never looked back. I have been doing photography consistently since then.

I love to capture outdoor portraits and stage performances. While I do shoot digital work, film has my heart. Nothing beats the magic moments and the (perfect) imperfections of this tangible medium.

Photography has given me everything: a specific moody, saturated, textural point of view, an enhanced attention to the conservation and preservation of nature, a deepened awareness of the innate beauty and character of the people around me, and the endless magic of on-stage performances.

I am happy to be anywhere with my camera, and I am especially happy you’re here. <3
